Mary Smith Dillon

Mary S. Dillon, age 83, of Rocky Mount, entered the Kingdom of God on Saturday, May 29, 2010. She was born in Franklin County on February 28, 1927, a daughter of the late Jacob and Vinnie Smith. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Chapman Dillon; two sisters; three brothers; and a great-grandson. Surviving are her sons, Chapman Dillon, Jr., Hurricane, West Virginia and Ricky Dillon, Wirtz; daughters, Dianne Morgan (Don), Belleair, Florida and Sandra Greenwood (Bill), Copper Hill; nine grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; brothers, Allen Smith, Salem, Daniel Smith, Bradenton, Florida; four sisters-in-law; numerous nieces, nephews, other family members and friends. The family greatly appreciates the loving care given by Good Samaritan Hospice/Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, June 1, 2010 with Rev. Joseph Ashby officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
