Mary Overfelt Mullins

Mary Overfelt Mullins, age 72 of Rocky Mount, passed away Sunday, July 5, 2015. She was born January 5, 1943 to the late Harry Overfelt and Rosie Bowles Overfelt. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by brothers Cline, Herbert and Bobby Overfelt; sister Virginia Meeks. Ms. Mullins was a member of Oak Grove Church of the Brethren. Surviving are her daughter Rhonda Tyler (J.B.); grandchildren Joshua Tyler (Kayla), Jacob Tyler, Elijah Spence, Olivia Spence and Sarah Spence; great-grandchild Kaydyn Tyler; her sister Shirley James (Paul); many nieces and nephews. The family would especially like to thank the staff of Franklin Healthcare for their love and care. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to The American Lung Association or to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Graveside services will be conducted Wednesday, July 8 at 11:00 a.m. from Oak Grove Church of the Brethren Cemetery with Rev. J.D. Harmon officiating.
