Mary Jacqueline Sherwood

Mary Jacqueline “Jackie” Sherwood passed to the House Of Our Lord to join her previously deceased husband Jack Edward Sherwood on May 9, 2023.  They were married 68 glorious years.  Jackie was predeceased by her parents Marie & William Wesley Wigginton; sisters, Betty Weaver and Phoebe Hicks; brother Mosby Wigginton and her grandson Cade Aldridge. She is survived by her children Sherry Vangelder (Philip), Debbie Aldridge and Robert Sherwood. Jackie’s grandchildren are Darcy Vasudev, Jules Murphy (Wes) and Brittany & Kimberly Aldridge, Brooke Lopez (Michael), Lisa Ross (Brian), Jordan Sherwood (Jackie) and David Doman (Krista).  Jackie has eleven adored great-grandchildren.  Most important to Jackie was her family, feeding & watching the birds, showing her grandchildren & great-grandchildren her appreciation of nature & eating chocolate.  She loved her nieces & nephews beyond measure.  Jackie was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and had the best neighbors in Liberty Heights.  Special thanks to hospice, Susan Saul, Evan Inman, the Thurmans, the Bowmans, the Levines and the Reeds. Funeral Services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home 11 a.m. Wednesday, May 17, 2023 with Rev. Jeffery T. White officiating. Interment will follow in Blue Ridge Memorial Gardens, Roanoke, Va. Arrangements by Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, Rt. 220, Rocky Mount, VA
