Mary Helen Best Weber, 85, of Union Hall, VA, formerly of DeWitt, VA, passed away at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital on February 2, 2012.
She was born in Wayne County, NC to Andrew J. and Pearl V. Best. After graduation, she trained as a nurse at Goldsboro Hospital. She married and moved with her family to DeWitt, VA in 1952. She obtained her Cosmetology License in 1967 from Flair Beauty Institute in Petersburg, VA, where she remained as an instructor. She completed her working career with the Va. Dept. of Transportation. She was a member of the Gills Creek Primitive Baptist Church.
She is survived by her daughter Wendy Weber Ralph and husband Ken of Union Hall; grandchildren Timothy Ralph of Colonial Heights, VA; Betsy (Brian) Miller; great-grandchildren Carson and Camryn of DeWitt, VA; sister Myrtle Lewis and niece Nancy Mayer; sister Agnes (Robert) Ferrell; nephew Neil (Pam) Ferrell all of DeWitt, VA; niece Connie (John) Brisendine and children Rachel and Joshua of Petersburg, VA.
A memorial service will be held Thursday, April 12, 2012 at 1:00 P.M. at Gills Creek Primitive Baptist Church located at 7110 Brooks Mill Road, Glade Hill, VA with Elder Larry Hollandsworth and Elder Junior Conner officiating.
