MaryAlice Blankenbeckler

MaryAlice Thompson Blankenbeckler passed away peacefully on Monday, August 12, 2024, with her children holding her hands. She was a beloved mom and maw maw/grandma who will be deeply missed. She was born to the late Mary Catherine and Frank Melvin Thompson on October 24, 1943. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her loving husband Charles David Blankenbeckler; brother William Clark Thompson; sisters Barbara Ann Beard, Darlene Sue Robertson, Virgie Mae Church; stepdaughter Sherry Ann Blankenship

Alice loved to watch sports. Her favorite being football, basketball and racing. She was an avid and loyal Dallas Cowboys fan but as much as she enjoyed sports her most favorite thing to do was to spend time with her family, especially her grandchildren. 

Surviving to cherish her memory, her son Johnny Lee Crowe & wife Terrie; daughter Amy Renee Jones & husband Scott; Stepdaughter Clara May King & husband Todd, Melanie Lythea Kiger; grandchildren Johnny Lee Crowe Jr, Julia Michelle Crowe, Rachel Leanne Crowe, Tyler Scott Jones, Hunter Cole Jones; step grandchildren Chasidy Michelle Blankenship, Morgan Danielle Kiger, Amber Marie Richardson, Paige Elizabeth Fox, Regan Victoria King, Gabrielle Alyss King, Lillian May Richardson, Joseph Rae, Mary Amanda Campbell, Micah Shane Rae; her sisters Patsy Ann Sloan, Lillian Elizabeth DeLong & husband Marvin, Betty Irene Thomas; great grandchildren Mariah Crowe, Ellowyn Crowe, Jacob Crowe, Leatt Preston, Laegan Preston, 10 step great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. 

A graveside service will be conducted 11:00 AM Friday, August 16, 2024, at Franklin Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, VA with her nephew, Pastor Mark Delong officiating.
