Maxine Jones

Maxine James Jones, age 75 of Ferrum, went to be with her Lord and Savior Friday, November 11, 2011. Maxine was born March 1, 1936, a twin daughter to the late Roy H. and Lera Nolen James. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sister Christine Rorrer and brothers R.H. James and Albert James. She was a member of Ferrum Faith Assembly of God. Maxine liked to travel, loved flowers and family gatherings but her true passion in life was her family, especially her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren. She also enjoyed walking her dogs, “Happy” and “Snappy”. Surviving is her loving husband JD Jones; sons Jackie Jones and wife Judy, Stevie Jones and wife Barbara; grandchildren Shanon and Holly Jones and Chad Jones; great-grandchildren Skyler, Trevor and Seth; step grandchildren Robbie and Lori Peters and Bobby Peters; step great-grandchildren Miranda, Cassidy and Devin; sisters & brothers-in-law, Alberta and Junior Shively, Claudine James, twin sister Nadine Scott and fiancée Tom Ross, Georgetta Evans, Donnie Rorrer, and Pat and Roger Carter. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Franklin County Gideons, P.O. Box 915, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 3:00 p.m. Sunday with Pastors Dave Braxton, Roger Jones and Calvin Hickson officiating. Interment will follow in Maple Grove Cemetery. Her family will be receiving friends one hour prior to the service starting at 2:00 p.m. Sunday. The Jones family has entrusted Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Ave, Rocky Mount with the arrangements. 540-483-5533
