Melissa Faye Leonard

Melissa Faye Leonard, 25, of Moneta, VA, previously from Front Royal, VA, went to be with the Lord on Friday, October 8, 2021, due to a car accident. Melissa was born in Reston, VA on April 9, 1996. She was beautiful, a caring and generous soul, creative, free spirited and passionate about adventures You could always find her outdoors. She loved traveling and visiting the beach, swimming, kayaking, soccer, roller coasters, live music, feeding every guest, growing sunflowers, and soaking up the sun. She was an amazing painter, had diverse musical tastes she loved sharing, was never far from a skateboard, and always down to play disc golf or just hang out and play video games. She loved her family and friends, her dog Bindi and cat Achilles. Melissa attended Skyline High School where she played soccer, football and wrestling. She continued her soccer career at Warren County High School where she graduated in 2013, then graduated from Central Virginia Community College in 2016. Melissa is survived by her husband; Matt Perkins, Parents; Brooke and Francis Thomson and James and Kathy Leonard, siblings; James Leonard Jr., Trevor Mauk, Krista Mauk Estep (Demitrus), Victoria Thomson and Shannon Thomson, Maternal Grandparents; Chickey and Chester Huffman, Paternal Grandparents; Joe and Alice Leonard, Nieces; Kaelynn Mauk and Khloee Estep, Nephew; Da’Siah Estep and several Aunts, Uncles and Cousins. Beloved by all. Because she has so many family and friends in both the Smith Mountain Lake area and Front Royal, VA area, there will be 2 services at the following locations and times: Saturday, October 16, at 2pm 100 Harbor Village Way, Moneta, Va 24121 And Saturday, October 23, at 2pm New Hope Bible Church 80 N. Lake Ave. Front Royal, VA 22630 For those who wish to send flowers, they may be sent to either location the morning of the service.
