Melva Dillon Smith, age 79, of Glade Hill passed away Saturday, July 23, 2011. She was preceded in death by her husband Clarence Johnnie Smith; granddaughter, Shannon Jo Manning; parents, Joseph and Geneva Dillon; sister Barbara D. Bousman; half sisters, Ruby D. Booth, Clara D. Dillon, Judie D. Scott, Opal D. Cook, Christine Slough and Frances D. Johnson; half brothers, Joseph L. Dillon, Andrew Jackson Dillon, Clyde Thomason, Carl Thomason and Alex Thomason. Surviving are her sister, Dearl D. Holland; brother Melvin “Doc” and Dorothy Dillon; half sister, Claudia D. Terrell; her children, Johnny and Wendy Smith, Cornelia Kay and Jr Mitchell, Becky and Cliff Roberts, Lola “Curly” and Dennis Manning, Kenneth Smith, Andrew and Mary Smith, Sandra and Roger Greer, Edgar “Buster” and Pam Smith, Dennis Smith, Stanley and Alice Smith; twelve grandchildren; ten great-grandchildren. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday, July 25, 2011 with Rev. Bill Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Crookview Cemetery.
