Melvin Wayne Fralin, 69, of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord Saturday, October 24, 2015. He was born December 17, 1945, the son of the late Cecil and Lena Ruth Perdue Fralin. He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Barbara Rigney and Carolyn “Kitty” Carter.
Mr. Fralin had a 25 year career in construction at Local Union 319. Melvin had a passion for antiques and ran an antique business for over 25 years. He also had a love for his pets especially his cats.
Mr. Fralin is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Barbara Young Fralin; daughter, Regina Fralin Stanley (Neil); grandson, Travis Wayne David and fiancée, Halona Shelor; sister, Mildred Rigney; brothers, Oliver “Ollie” Fralin (Alise), Terry Fralin, Keith Fralin (Yessenia); brothers-in-law, Wilson Carter and Paul Rigney; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins. The family would especially like to thank the Lewis Gale Hospital Doctors and Staff for their love and care.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday, October 27, 2015, at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (Town Chapel) with the Rev. Doug Sasser officiating. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park.
