Melvin Walter Simmons

November 12, 1939 — October 2, 2012

Melvin Walter Simmons, 72 of Hardy, Went to be with the Lord, Oct. 2, 2012. Melvin was great Husband, Father, Brother and Friend. After a 4 year battle with Melanoma Cancer, Melvin Walter Simmons left us for an awesome and eternal hike, to God’s house. He died surrounded by loved ones and knowing his family sits right with God. A fighter Melvin never gave up, his endless faith was his testimony. He lived, he laughed, he loved and prayed. He leaves hand prints on our hearts and dozer marks all over the county. He left with peace and with grace. His accomplishments are endless. We are stronger and blessed because of him. His light will always be in our hearts. Remember what he’s shared with you and hold onto it. He is survived by his best friend and loving wife of 53 years, wife, Judy Simmons; his devoted daughter, Penny Simmons. His Sisters Shirley Leber, Lois Overstreet and husband JR., Special family Dale and Debbie Simmons and Uncle Wilford Simmons many Nieces, Nephews and Cousins.
