Michael William "Mike" Young

Michael "Mike" Young, age 58 of Rocky Mount, passed away Saturday, December 9, 2017. Mike was born May 27, 1959 to the late William Edward (Poochie) Young and Mary Selena (Lena) Young of Rocky Mount. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by grandparents Frank and Rachel Cooper of Richmond. Mike was a very loving and faithful man who had great sense of humor. He worked at PLYGEM Windows for 40 years and was a active member of Victory Christian Center in Collinsville. Mike was also an avid drummer and bowler. Surviving are his wife of 37 years Mary Ann Young; son Derek Young and wife Crystal of Collinsville; daughter Tiffany Young of Rocky Mount; grandchildren Carter and Austin Young, Makayla Janes, and Nevaeh Young; mother-in-law Marie (Alice) Young of Bassett; sisters Lisa Castillo (Miguel Castillo), Dawn St.Clair (John St.Clair) and Tammy Garcia; numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends. Funeral services will be held 2:00 p.m. Friday at Conner Bowman Funeral Home (Rt. 220 Chapel) with Pastor Janet McGhee officiating. His family will be receiving friends Thursday from 5-8 p.m. at Conner Bowman Funeral Home, Rt. 220, 62 Virginia Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount.
