Natalie Dunne

May 14, 1925 — December 12, 2014

On Friday, December 12, 2014, Natalie J. Dunne passed away at home in the loving circle of her family and found peace in heaven. She was born at home in Nanuet, NY on May 14, 1925. Natalie served in the Women’s Army Corp, WAC, in WWII and was proud to be an American. She epitomized the Greatest Generation. After the war she was employed by Chase Manhattan Bank as one of the first women to assist in opening new branches in New York City. Later in life she satisfied her curiosity and love for exploring new experiences by becoming a travel agent. She enjoyed traveling the world including Europe, and the Far East. Natalie was a devoted wife for over 67 years and a loving mother. As her only child I was proud and privileged to call her my mom. She taught me how to love by loving me unconditionally. It has been my honor to love and care for her as she courageously and fiercely met many challenges. She was a strong individualist grounded in principles she lived by. Natalie is predeceased by her parents, Morris and Ede Lang, and her brother, Robert Lang. She is survived by her husband, Patrick W. Dunne, her daughter and son in law, Patricia and John McGreevey, her brother, Chester F. Lang, several nieces and nephews including Eileen Edwards and Suzanne Perry Vanrijssen and her husband Hendrick Vanrijssen. A sincere note of gratitude to Nurse Karen Tosh of Carillion Hospice, and Paula Lescar and loyal companions Chenise and Gloria at Generation Solutions. All my love and gratitude to my husband, John for his constant love and support. Funeral Services will be conducted from Resurrection Catholic Church on Wednesday, December 17, 2014 at 3:00 pm, conducted by Deacon Chris Barrett of Resurrection Catholic Church, 15353 Moneta Road, Moneta, VA 24121. Followed immediately by the Rite of Committal with military honors in the Parish Cemetery. Arrangements are being conducted by Conner-Bowman Funeral Home and Crematory, 62 Virginia Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount. www.connerbowman.com
