Nellie Woods Ferguson, age 89 of Ferrum, beloved daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, cousin and child of God, died on Friday, August 2, 2013.
Mrs. Ferguson was a faithful member of First Church of the Brethren of Ferrum for 59 years and retired from the Ferrum Elementary School as Cafeteria Manager with 30 years of service.
She was born December 9, 1923 a daughter of the late Joseph Woods and Minnie Y. Martin and husband Charlie. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Dalton R. Ferguson; and four brothers and two sisters.
Surviving are her sons and daughters-in-law, Ronnie and Betty Ferguson, Larry and Sherry Ferguson; daughter, Linda Ferguson-Saunders; grandchildren, Ron and wife Sheree, Eddie and friend Sherry, Mark and wife Karen, Mike, Lori-Anne Saunders, Jennifer Barton and Rob Roberts, Stephanie Berry and Robert Berry; great-grandchildren, Tommy, Elijah, Isaiah, Kaitlin, David, Ricky, Ashleigh, Robie, Soren, Kathryn, Vivianne and Michael; one great-great-granddaughter, Carly; her sister, Elizabeth Sigmon. She is also survived by many nieces, nephews, family and dearest friends including Shirley Thompson.

Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2 p.m. Monday, August 5, 2013 with Pastor Lee Bryant and Rev. Wayne Wingfield officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends Monday one hour prior to the service beginning at 1 p.m.
