Olivia Atkins Quinn went to be with her Lord and Savior April 18, 2022 at the age of 89. She leaves behind her husband of 70 years, Hubert Quinn, and her three children whom were her pride and joy, Reggie Quinn, Phyllis Karavatakis (Nick), and Sherry Scott (Mark). Also surviving are her grandchildren, whom she adored, Bradley Quinn (Amanda), Shannon Quinn (Leslie), Olivia Karavatakis, Oksana Sikes (Sam), Parker Scott, and Brayden Scott; great-grandchildren, Emma Quinn, Caleb Quinn, Holland Quinn, Hogan Quinn, Jamison Quinn and Mary Rowen Sikes; sister-in-law, Irene Stapper; and many nieces, nephews, other family members and friends including her special friends, Carolyn Shively, Alease Hatcher; and her caretaker, Cynthia Booth.
Mrs. Quinn was born April 9, 1933 a daughter of the late Robert and Nannie Trail Atkins. She was also preceded in death by her siblings, Midge Hollandsworth, Minnie Elsie Radford, Grover Atkins, Charlie Lee Atkins, James Atkins, Joe Atkins and Bobby Atkins.
Olivia was a devoted wife, loving and selfless mother and grandmother, and a strong and independent warrior. She put everyone’s needs before her own, had the most beautiful smile, loved to laugh, and remained positive until she transitioned into her Heavenly Home. Olivia touched the lives of so many, from her friends and family, to the nurses and caregivers who have taken care of her over the years, to complete strangers.
Throughout her adult life she worked for DuPont, Ferrum Elementary School, Ferrum College and retired from BB&T bank.
Funeral services will be conducted 1:00 p.m. Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Maple Grove United Methodist Church with Pastor Jimmy Calhoun officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday, April 20, 2022 from 5 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home
