Patrick William Dunne

Patrick William Dunne age 92 of Hardy, left this earth on March 5, 2017. He was born to first generation Irish Americans with humble beginnings in New York City, on May 30, 1924. He was a strong hard working man. He was a U.S. Army Veteran serving during World War II, earned a Bachelor’s Degree from New York University and was a Volunteer Fireman for over 30 years in Massapequa, New York. Mr. Dunne was also Managing Partner at Newbrook Paper Company and was a member of Resurrection Catholic Church. To the very last moment of his life he demonstrated an unwavering loyalty to his family, his country and his faith, determined to live and die in his own way on his own terms. May he rest in peace. Patrick was preceded in death by his parents, Patrick and Elizabeth Welch Dunne, and was also preceded in death by his wife of 67 years, Natalie Dunne; brother, John Dunne; and son-in-law, John McGreevey. He is survived by his loving daughter, Patricia Dunne McGreevey; brother, Billy Dunne; niece, Elizabeth Connolly; and nephew, John Dunne. Funeral Mass will be conducted from Resurrection Catholic Church 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2017 with the Rev. Salvador Añonuevo officiating. Interment with military rites will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends prior to the mass beginning at 10:30 a.m. A reception will follow the burial in the church Fellowship Hall with the family receiving friends.
