Peter Dillard Meeks

Peter D. Meeks “Junior” age 85, of Rocky Mount passed away at his home Sunday, August 25. He was the son of the late Jim Tom and Winnie Meeks and was also preceded in death by his wives Francis Meeks, Mildred Meeks and a son David Meeks. Mr. Meeks was employed by Stanley Furniture, Lane Co., and he retired from Cooper Wood. He was a member of Furnace Creek Baptist Church. Surviving are his Grandson, Jeff Meeks (Michelle); Great-Grandchildren, Logan and Abby Meeks, Triston Bowbeer, Peyton Welch, Ethen Welch; and a Brother, Oliver Meeks. The family would like to thank Faye Woody for all her loving care she gave through his last months; also Carilion Hospice of Franklin County, especially Karen Tosh; and Dr. Boone and Associates for their care. Funeral Services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel (220 Location) at 2:00 pm Wednesday, August 28, 2013 with Pastor Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
