Phyllis Ann Dent

Phyllis Ann Dent, age 40 of Rocky Mount, went to be with the Lord Friday, September 6, 2013. She was preceded in death by a grandfather Warren Dent; uncle Tommy Dent; grandparents Frank and Cornelius George; uncles Robert and Billy George; aunts Brenda and Ann George; first cousins Mike George and Patsy George. Phyllis was a member of Henry Fork Church of the Brethren and loved everyone she met. Among her joys in life were racing, especially Bill Elliott, fishing, the Special Olympics, bowling and Tweety Bird. Surviving are her Father Douglas Wayne Dent (Faye); her mother Marsha George Dent; step sister Lisa Hodges and son Brandon; step brothers Terry Stump and wife Dreama with their son Colton, Jeff Stump and his wife Jamie and their daughter Ella; Grandmother Sue Dent; Step Grandma Velma Turner; caregivers Cecilia Erickson and Ricky Hodges; her special pets Petie, Chico, Fred, Amy; numerous family and friends. In lieu of Flowers, memorials may be made to the Free Clinic of Franklin County, P.O. Box 764, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Funeral services will be conducted from Henry Fork Church of the Brethren 11:00 a.m. Monday with Pastor Ronald Coleman and Mr. Richard Arrington officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will be receiving friends from 4- 8 p.m. on Sunday at Henry Fork Church.
