Phyllis Jo Harrison Dillon, loving wife, mother, and grandmother, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 18, 2023, at the age of 65 years old. Born June 05, 1957 to the late Vestel and Edna Harrison. She grew up in Redwood, VA, and attended Franklin County High School. She was united in holy matrimony to Benjamin "Buddy" Dillon and shared forty-five loving years together. They raised three devoted children, Brent, Kellie, and Johnathan. Their family grew with the addition of their wonderful son-in-law Josh and their precious grandson Saul creating a close-knit family and a home filled with love.
Throughout her life, she was an accomplished seamstress and worked for Bassett Walker for many years. Later, she held positions at Dudley Elementary School and W.E. Skelton 4-H Center, where she enjoyed interacting with the children and made many wonderful friendships. Phyllis loved her family immensely. She was very proud of her children and dedicated her life to being a fantastic mother and adored spoiling her grandson Saul with lots of hugs and sweet treats. She cherished making precious memories while on vacation, trips to music festivals, family celebrations, and holiday gatherings. She enjoyed special time with her sister Betty, best friend Mary Lou, and her girls group. They shared many lunch dates and fun shopping trips together filled with happiness and laughter. She had a genuine love for life and a smile that would warm your heart. She was a woman of strong faith and shared her love of God to others. Although she faced difficult battles with her health, she lived her life to the fullest and viewed everyday as a blessing. Her heart was full of love and she always had HOPE. Phyllis was the epitome of strength, courage and bravery. She was a true inspiration in every sense or the word. She was loved so much and will be dearly missed by all that knew her
Phyllis was preceded in death by her parents Vestel and Edna Harrison, brother Michael "Mike" Harrison and her beloved son Kerry Brent Harrison.
She is survived by her loving husband Benjamin "Buddy" Dillon, daughter and son-in-law Kellie & Josh Wilson, son Johnathan Dillon, grandson Saul Wilson, sister & brother-in-law Betty & Colin Wray, brothers-in-law & sisters-in-law Doug & Linda Turner, Richard & Susie Dudley, Phillip & Kathy Dillon. As well as numerous loving nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews, close friends, and her special little dog Bradey. The family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone that has lifted Phyllis and the family up in prayer, reached out with their condolences and to the many who offered their love and support.
Funeral services will be conducted from Redwood United Methodist Church 1:00p.m. Wednesday February 22nd. Interment will follow at Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will be receiving friends 6:00 -8:00p.m. Tuesday February 21st at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, Rt. 220, 62 VA Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, VA
