Prentice Turman McGuire age 86 of Roanoke passed away on Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital. Prentice was a faithful member of Boones Mill United Methodiest Church and was retired as a Quality Control Inspector with Elizabeth Arden after many years of service.
She was born on May 11, 1935, a daughter of the late Grover Cleveland and Edna Hylton Turman. She was the youngest of 12 children. She was also preceded in death by her husband, John E. McGuire; her son, Tommy Palmer; five brothers; and five sisters.
Prentice is survived by her daughters, Sandy P. Ward (David), Pat P. Chockley (Barry), and Bonnie P. Henry; eight grandchildren; eleven great-grandchildren; her sister, Pauline Nelson. She is also survived by her long-time friend and hairdresser, Vickie; many special friends including John and Pat; and her church family at Boones Mill United Methodist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family has requested that memorial contributions be considered in her name to: church, Boones Mill UMC, P. O. Box 288, Boones Mill, VA 24065.
A Celebration of Her Life will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, February 16, 2022, at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home with fellow church member, Victor Conner presiding. Interment will be Private in Franklin Memorial Park. Her family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 10 a.m. Following the service there will be a small reception held at the funeral home for a time of fellowship with the family.
