Ralph Aaron Carter

Ralph Aaron Carter, age 75, of Ferrum passed away at his home on Wednesday, November 23, 2016. Aaron was the son of the late Ralph and Roxie Carter. He is also preceded in death by two brothers, Jesse and Kenneth Carter; four sisters, Ellen Barbour, Reba Mabry, Faye Peters, and Joy Underwood. Surviving are two sons, James Carter (Rhonda), Allan Carter (Windy); one daughter, Lynn Thompson (Richard); six grandchildren, Missy Carter (Paul), Jamie Carter (Morgan), Kasey Carter (Colby), Jessica Barrett (Billy), Jessica Thompson, Josh Thompson (Andrea); two great-grandsons, Jordan and Braylen Meekins: four sisters, Betty Adkins (C.L.), Margaret Jones, Clara Carter and Janie Belcher (Lane). He is also survived by special friends, Gene and Barbara Parker. The family would like to give special thanks to Team Nurse and especially Elaine Smallwood. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (town chapel) 11:00 AM Saturday, with Pastor Mike Finley officiating. Interment will follow in the Carter Family Cemetery in Ferrum, VA.
