Ralph William Ellis

Ralph William Ellis, age 80 passed away peacefully after a long fight with cancer on Monday, November 28, 2022. Ralph was born on May 22, 1942, to the late Roscoe and Annie Ellis. Ralph was born the eldest boy of four children. Ralph developed a close walk with the Lord that only grew stronger as the years went on. He enjoyed gardening, spending time with his family, making pickles, building furniture, and his involvement at Halesford Baptist Church.

Ralph was preceded in death by his infant sister, Shelby Ellis; his treasured wife and mother of his children, Louise Ellis; his mother and father; his daughters-in-law, Lorrie Ellis and Patsy Price; his brother, Melvin Ellis; and his beloved wife, Virginia who passed away just thirteen days prior. Ralph and Virginia shared 45 beautiful years of marriage together and though hard to picture this life without them, it has brought the family great comfort knowing what a joyous reunion occurred in Heaven.

Ralph is survived by his adored children; Annette Brown (Dale), Darryl Ellis, stepson Wayne Price; grandchildren, Rachael Crandall (Josiah), Sarah Ellis, Jessica Sanicola (Nick), and Cody Price (Ama); great-grandchildren, Gianna Sanicola, Sophia Sanicola, and Oceana Price; Brother, Michael Ellis; faithful friend, Bobby Scearce; and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, please consider donating to St. Jude’s Children's Research Hospital or the Roanoke Rescue Mission - both charities which were close to Ralph’s heart.

Funeral services will be conducted at Halesford Baptist Church, 12:00 PM Friday, December 2, 2022 with Pastors Melvin Harris, Craig Polston and Keith Floyd officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service beginning at 11:00 AM at the church.
