Ray Wilton "Rayboy" Nichols

Ray Wilton (Rayboy) Nichols, age 71 of Ferrum, passed away Sunday, October 14, 2018. He was born October 5, 1947 to the late Wilton Sanford (Cat) Nichols and Bertha Ann Quinn Nichols. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother Henry Sanford (Sambo) Nichols. Mr. Nichols was a Vietnam War Veteran who served his country in the 360th Trans. Co. from 1967-1968. Surviving is his son Chuck Conrad Nichols, daughter April Nichols Hazelwood; grandchildren Chance Kealey Nichols, Brady Austin Hazelwood, Phoenix Jace Eanes; sister Catherine Nichols Wood; special nieces and their families Karen Guilliams and husband Kevin and their son Nicholas, Kathy Rutrough and her husband Jason and their children Sierra and Bryar; many nieces, nephews and family and friends. Graveside services will be conducted from Maple Grove Cemetery 2:00 p.m. Thursday with Rev. Bud Nichols officiating. His family will be receiving friends 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home and at other times at the home of April Hazelwood, 144 Ferrum Forest Ln., Ferrum, VA.
