Rhonda was employed by Franklin County Public Schools as a bus driver. She has safely shuttled hundreds of students to and from school, on field trips, and on Upward Bound trips
To VA Tech.
She loved going to the beach, to Bluegrass Music Festivals, to craft fairs, and antiquing.
She was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. Rhonda loved living on her family’s country homestead, which they named Poplar Hollow. Her out-of-town nieces and nephews loved
summer visits with “Nanny” Rhonda. Her talents were many: extraordinary homemaker and cook, story teller, gardener, seamstress, decorator, plumber, auto mechanic, and creative problem solver. It seemed there was nothing she couldn’t make, design, fix, or re-decorate.
Her selflessness, kindness, and generosity knew no bounds – she never said no to anyone who asked for help nor failed to offer help when it was needed.
Rhonda was known and loved by so many people. She lived in a small town but the world she
created through her life was vast. Her physical being is no longer with us, but her spirit lives on in those who were blessed with the priceless gift of knowing and loving her. The words written here are insufficient to characterize the legacy she leaves behind.
