Richard Wayne Hicks, also known as our own “cowboy warrior”, took his last breath after his long journey with cancer, on January 31, 2020 while surrounded by family at his home. Known by many through his real life “cowboy” appearance, he was quick to draw a crowd but never liked all of the attention. His heart truly shined in the love to all who came across him during his journey. The smile that he wore each day came across to others as an invitation of conversation, of genuine acceptance, a friendly ear, or a way to show that everything was going to be okay. He will be missed but his memories live on.
