Richard Byrd Lee

Richard B. Lee, Sr. age 88 of Boones Mill and formerly of Florida died Monday, May 1, 2017 in Lewis-Gale Medical Center. He was born in Minnesota on May 19, 1928 a son of the late Elbert Togo and Ida Fern Peters Lee. He retired from Dunnellon Lumber Company of Florida where he was a resident for 30 years. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by three brothers, Raymond, Gerald and Fontain Lee; infant sister, Glorine Lee. Mr. Lee is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jane C. Lee ; two children, Linda L. and Earl Welch, Florida, Richard B., Jr. and Barbara Lee, Boones Mill; three grandchildren, J.W. Lee (Brooke), Trevor Lee (Natasha) both of Roanoke, Amy Kerner (David), Chesapeake; three great-grandchildren, Archer, Ava and John Lee. He is also survived by his brother, Dwayne Lee; and his sister, Darlene Hobbs, both of Roanoke. Funeral services will be conducted 11:00 a.m. Friday, May 5, 2017 at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Rick Poland officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park.
