With great sadness, the family of Richard Randleman, a deeply loved husband, son and brother, announce his sudden passing on October 14, 2024. His loving heart was simply not strong enough to survive.
Born on January 27, 1978 in Washington, D.C. to Mary Morton and Gary Randleman, Rich was a joyful child. Never seen without a bright smile or mischievous grin, he was a bundle of energy who delighted in playing with his brothers and sister and the multiple family dogs who populated his life. His brilliant blue eyes were always focused on the next adventure. His loving heart encompassed all
Canine companions held a prominent place in Rich’s life and his care for them demonstrated yet another aspect of his warmhearted nature. Over the years, they included a willful Daschund, three placid Golden Retrievers (two of them from among seven memorably born during his third birthday party), a highly intelligent Doberman, a gentle Pitbull mix--who worked hard to keep him safe in times of danger--and his last pup, Sofie, another sweet-natured Pitbull mix. Each of these furry friends provided joy and solace in equal measure over the course of Rich’s life. His love for them knew no bounds.
A hard worker, Rich could do the work of two or three by himself when tasked with a job. If the work would benefit his family, he was all in. Though illness prevented his working in recent years, he nevertheless focused his energy on staying in touch with family who were often scattered across the globe. Nothing was more important to him than his family. No one more so than his beloved wife, Donna. The depth of their love for each other never wavered—they were inseparable.
Others who love and mourn Rich deeply, include: his parents Mary and Scott Morton, Gary Randleman; siblings - Timothy (Jen), Seth (Cara), Elizabeth (Mark), Cari (Mike), Phillip (Autumn) and brother-in-law, Scotty. Along with other extended family members–all knew they had a place in his heart.
Rich was predeceased by his grandparents, John and Elizabeth Ford, Donald and Ruth Randleman, and step-mother, Cathy Randleman.
Any measure of peace we have now is in knowing that Rich is in the arms of his savior, free from pain, free from worry, free indeed. †
