Rick Glenn King

Rickey “Rick” Glenn King, age 64 of Boones Mill passed away peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 14, 2012 after a long battle with cancer. He was born on July 9, 1947 to the late Glenn H. King and Edith C. King. Preceding him in death was his former wife, Patty Anderson King. Surviving is his devoted mother Edith C. King; daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Timothy Marshall; his grandchildren Tyler and Kaleigh St. Clair; and his great-grandson, Brayden St. Clair. Rick is also survived by a special aunt, Mildred C. Carter; and his devoted brother and sister-in-law, Kevin and Amy King; nephew Haden King; niece Callie King. Rick grew up attending Clearbrook Grace Brethren Church. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and friend. He never met a stranger and will be greatly missed by all who knew him. Flowers will be accepted or due to the love and affection he had for all animals, memorial contributions may be made to the Planned Pethood of Franklin County (Humane Society) Franklin County Humane Society P.O. Box 2118, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel Tuesday, January 17, 2012 at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul Sink officiating. Interment will follow in Bethlehem Church of the Brethren Cemetery.
