Robert C. ( Bob ) Buckner

Robert Coleman Bob Buckner, age 87 of Glade Hill passed away on Friday, November 12, 2010. Bob was a U.S. Army Veteran and was known to many as the one arm brick mason. He was a man full of life and a spirit of everlasting love for all humanity. A man that had the skills to fix and repair anything. Born May 12, 1923 a son of the late Charles and Louzera Hale Buckner and was preceded in death by a daughter , Kathy Buckner Hunt; six brothers; and four sisters. Left to cherish his memory is his loving wife of 60 years, Goldie; his daughter, Bobbye; special friend and neighbor, Janice Holland; a number of other relatives and friends. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel 2:00 p.m. Sunday, November 14, 2010 with Rev. Bill Doss officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made in his name to Glade Hill Rescue Squad, 2465 Jacks Mountain Road, Glade Hill, Virginia 24092.
