Robert D. Howell

“In loving memory of my husband, best friend and soul mate for life. You will be missed dearly, your wife Lynda." Robert was born August 23, 1964 to Robert Curtis Howell and Mary Virginia Conner Howell. He worked for 25 years for a utility company and was a member of Smith Mountain Lake Community Church of the Brethren. Robert was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing and gardening. Surviving is his loving wife Lynda Howell; children Stephanie Howell, LaCresha Mills, Daniel Truman (Phoebe), David Truman, Kimberly Gravely and Shannon Widener; Thirteen grandchildren and Seventeen great-grandchildren; sisters Dorothy Whorley and husband Ronnie, and Rosemary Donaldson; brother Curtis Howell; his best friend since they were seven years old Chuck Eskey. In lieu of flowers, his family asks that donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Memorial services will be conducted from Conner Bowman Funeral Home (Rt. 220 Chapel) 12:00 Saturday, March 2, 2019 with Pastor Tabitha Rudy officiating. His family will be receiving friends from 11 until service time on Saturday at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 62 Market Place Drive, Rocky Mount, VA 24151
