Robert Milton "Bob" Wilkins

Robert “Bob or Bobby” Milton Wilkins, Sr. age 74 of Rocky Mount passed away on Saturday, May 25, 2019. He was born November 8, 1944 in Savannah, GA, a son of the late John Wilkins I and Dean Wilkins and was also preceded in death by his sister Barbara Wilkins Alkire; brother John Wilkins II; and brother-in-law Billy Hydrick. Bob spent most of his childhood on Sullivan’s Island, SC. He proudly served in the US Air Force and attended Clemson University. He was a retired systems engineer and spent most of his working life in the Raleigh, NC area. He enjoyed sailing, traveling, and attending concerts & sporting events with friends & family. Bob loved his family and friends and never met a stranger. He is survived by his sister Cindy Wilkins Hydrick of Mt. Pleasant, SC; brother Marion Wilkins (Rosalyn) of Sullivan’s Island, SC, brother-in-law Jay Alkire of Brunswick, GA; sister-in-law Bonnie Wilkins of Virginia Beach; VA; son Robert Wilkins Jr. of Raleigh, NC; daughters Kerri Wilkins McGinty (John) of Savannah, GA, Lauren Wilkins Beauchamp (Randy) of Union Hall, VA, Sara Wilkins Tyree (Rob) of Apex, NC; grandchildren Caroline & Hunter Beauchamp, and many loving nieces & nephews. There will be no visitation. A celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2019 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Sullivan's Island Fish Fry Shack, 1424 Hennessy Street Sullivans Island, SC 29482 The family thanks everyone for their thoughts and prayers during this time.
