Robert Donald Peters

Robert Donald Peters, of Rocky Mount, VA passed away Sunday, March 20, 2011. He was a son of the late John A. & Nannie Ertmoed Peters of Sioux Falls, South Dakota. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brothers Al Peters and wife Darlene, Donald Peters; sisters Hattie Peters and Evelyn Peters. Robert served his country in the United States Army. He was a member of the IBW, the Franklin County Amateur Radio Club, and was an avid fisherman. Surviving are his wife of 17 years Alma Peters; sister Grace MacArthur; nephews John MacArthur (Kathy), Ronald Peters (Val); nieces Joan Feistner (Bruce), Jean Anderson (Don), Michele Peters, Joy Baldwin (Rick), and Janet Wood (Mike); several grand nieces and grand nephews; special friends Donald and Bernice Brown, Colin and Becky Bernard, the Old Timers Coffee Club at McDonalds, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Coffey, Myna and Shannon Barnes, Alma Johnson, and Ray Dickerson. The family would especially like to thank the physicians and staff of the Neurology Dept. on 12 West at Carilion Roanoke Memorial Hospital for their love and care. Graveside services will be held 2:00 Thursday at Franklin Memorial Park, Rocky Mount, VA with Rev. Judith Short officiating.
