Roger "Choo-Choo" Lynn Spencer

On April 28, 2015, God needed a Special Angel in Heaven and called Roger (Choo Choo) Spencer to come home. He is survived by his two daughters, Rochelle Spencer and James Rachel Spencer and Justen; his mother, Beulah Spencer; sister Deborah Myers (Steve); two great-nephews, Taylor McBride and Bradley McBride which he loved dearly; niece Sherry Myers; grandson “Kai-Lynn” to be born in July. He was preceded in death by his father, Troy Spencer; brothers David and Douglas Spencer; and a nephew, Brad Myers. Choo-Choo was loved by all and Loved baseball and all sports. He also loved to hunt and fish, either for the sport of it or just plain fun. Our beloved Choo-Choo was always on the go, and making everyone laugh and always had a smile and a snappy comment from the driver’s side of his Tahoe. He went to the house for a nap after the ball game on Monday afternoon and awoke in Heaven with his father. He will be greatly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home 2p.m. Sunday, May3, 2015 with Dr. Jackie Spence and Rev. Eddie Hawks officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday from 5 to 8 p.m. at Conner-Bowman and other times at the family home, 1275 Scuffling Hill Road, Rocky Mount.
