Roger Lee Sowers

Roger Lee Sowers, age 74, of Callaway, VA passed away Thursday, June 11, 2015. He was born April 6, 1941, the son of the late James Andrew Sowers and Dorothy Marie Hatcher Sowers. He was preceded in death by a sister, Dorothy Janet Sowers; two brothers, Jackie Sowers, Sr., James Andrew Sowers, Jr. Mr. Sowers was a Veteran of the U. S. Army. Surviving are his wife of 40 years, Laura Jane Sowers; two daughters, Janet Wilkins and her husband, S. Leslie, Heather Beyer and her husband, Trevor; son, Mark Sowers; seven grandchildren, Emily Wilkins, Tara Sowers, Hayden Sowers, R. Sierra Wilkins, Zain Sowers, Leslie James Wilkins, Tristen James Beyer; sister, Lois Hartman and husband, Herman; two brothers, William (Bill) Sowers and wife, Jeanette, Russell Sowers and wife, Sharon; numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial services will be conducted 11:00 A.M. Wednesday at Franklin Heights Baptist Church with Dr. Stan Parrish officiating. The family will receive friends from 10:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. before the service starts at the church.
