Ronnie Preston Hodges, age 67, of Callaway passed away Sunday, October 14, 2012. He was born March 10, 1945 the son of the late Lawrence and Elsie Schilling Hodges. He was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Carlton, Johnny, and Elton Hodges; and a great-granddaughter, Saphira. Ronnie was an amazing man who enjoyed woodworking , but his true love was his family. He was a truck driver for 30 years and served his country in the United States Army in Germany during the Vietnam War. Surviving are his loving wife of 45 years Polly H. Hodges; daughters, Angela H. Robson (Wyndom), and Sharon H. Haynes and Fiancé George Jefferson; Grandchildren, Michaela Haynes, Elliot Haynes and Shaddai Lucas; Step Grandchild, Alex Robson; Great-Grandchildren, Moriah Charlton, Taevon Haynes, Hunter Ambez, and Mark Lucas; Sisters, Margie Bohon (Donnie) and Brenda Arnett (Kenny); Brothers, Michael Hodges (Shirley), and Emory Hodges (Barbara). In lieu of flowers , memorials may be made to Pathway Christian Academy, 1550 Roanoke Street, Christiansburg, VA 24073. The family gives a special thanks to Pam and Lydia with Good Samaritan Hospice. Graveside services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Friday at Hodges Family Cemetery, Highhills Lane, Callaway, VA. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 P.M.
