Rosemary Halpin

Rosemary Theresa Halpin September 18, 1921 – March 6, 2014 Rosemary Halpin, nee Fink, 92 of Wirtz, VA, affectionately known as “Nana”, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, March 6, 2014. She is preceded in death by her daughter, Rosemary Halpin of Roanoke, VA; and her Grandson, Kyle Halpin of San Antonio, Texas. Born on September 18, 1921, in New York, Rosemary is survived by her Husband of 71 years, Jack Halpin; Her Son, John (Cathy) Halpin of San Antonio, Texas, and Eleven Grandchildren, Jay (Jenn) Tinkler, Karol (Doug) Kunz, Gerry (Lara) Bingeman, Patrick (Allison) Bingeman, Danielle Vaughn, Jonn (Shana) Halpin, Jack (Jenny) Halpin, James (Sandra) Halpin, Jason Halpin, Nick (Jena) Halpin, and Matt (Alex) Halpin. Rosemary is also survived by Twenty Great-Grandchildren. Born and raised in Valley Stream, NY to Joseph and Mary Fink, she and Jack resided in NY, retiring to Burnt Chimney, VA in 1989. She traveled throughout the US, accompanying Jack in the Army and Air Force during World War II. Rosemary was known as “Nana” to most everyone. She had the kindest heart and soul and loved being around her family. God has created another beautiful angel in Heaven to watch over her family and friends. Her Family would like to express gratitude to her neighbors, James and Tracy Rigney of Wirtz, VA for their love and kindness to Rosemary over the past twenty-five years. Her family will receive friends Monday, March 10, 2014, from 6 – 9 PM at Conner-Bowman Funeral Home. Interment will be in Calverton National Cemetery, NY.
