Roy Beckner

Roy Moses Beckner, Sr., age 68, of Ferrum, passed away Tuesday, August 14, 2012. He was born on March 15, 1944, to the late Mose Peter and Mary Childress Beckner. He will be sadly missed. He is survived by his sons, Roy Beckner, Jr., and Michael Beckner (Terry); step-grandchildren, Jessica and Logan Darnell; brother, James Bill Beckner of Ridgeway; and sisters, Sylvia Beckner of Roanoke, Carol Beckner of Ferrum, and Betty Stanley of Texas. Funeral services will be conducted from Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Chapel, 7 pm Friday, August 17, with Dr. Jackie Spence officiating. The family will receive friends from 6 to 7 pm Friday at the funeral home. Arrangements by Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Ave., Rocky Mount.
