Ruby Ann Chitwood Brown

Ruby Ann Chitwood Brown, 83, of Rocky Mount, VA passed away Saturday, July 24, 2021. She was born March 27, 1938 the daughter of the late James “Jim” Edd Chitwood and Lethia Mullins Chitwood. She was also preceded in death by an infant son, James Calvin Brown; daughter, Rhonda Brown Philpott; brothers, Jessie Chitwood, Buddy “Peanut” Chitwood; sisters, Loraine Nolen, Christine Hall, Frances McGhee; special friend, Ronnie Ayers. She loved her family and was a wonderful loving person. She also loved bluegrass music. Surviving are her son, Dale Brown (Annette); daughters, Martha Fralin and friend, Mickey, Jane Anderson(Darryl), Lisa Brown; sister, Nellie Adkins; grandchildren, Stevie Anderson (Cherie), Lindsey West (Ryan), Jeff Philpott (Ashley), Chelsea Green (Chris), Bridget Anderson, Tyler Quinn; great grandchildren, Conner Anderson, Mason Philpott, Grayson Green, Ainsley Green, Willough Philpott, Randi Baliles; sister-in-law, Marie Chitwood; many nieces and nephews; special friends; caretakers, Patricia Hall, Sue Wimmer, Judy Treadway. Funeral services will be held 12 Noon Wednesday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Rev. Chris Bennett officiating. Interment will follow in Sandy Ridge Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Wednesday from 11:00 A.M. to 12:00 Noon before the service starts.
