Ruby McDaniel Keatts

Ruby McDaniel Keatts born August 18, 1936, (affectionately known as Mama Ruby), left to meet her Lord and savior on Tuesday, April 11, 2017. She was born in Mount Hermon, Virginia. She was preceded in death by her parents, Pastor William H. McDaniel and Emma A. Crowder McDaniel; her sister, Eva McDaniel; brother, Arthur Lee McDaniel; brother, William (Bill) McDaniel along with her husband, Clarence Keatts. She is survived by her six children, Clarence Wade “Wade” Keatts (wife, Marilyn), Michael Woodrow “Mike” Keatts, Billy Joe “Billy” Keatts (wife, Patricia), Melinda Jane “Linda” Masseth (husband, Tony), Timothy Mark “Timmy” Keatts (wife, Lisa), Dana Kay “Dana” Shrewsbury (husband, Patrick); six brothers and sisters, Mary McDaniel Pruitt (husband, Matthew), Edward McDaniel, Nannie McDaniel Hammock (husband, Luther), Raleigh McDaniel, Mildred McDaniel Graham (husband, James), Jane McDaniel. Mama Ruby had 14 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, 2 great great grandchildren. Everyone that met Mama Ruby knew her deep devotion to her family, serving her Heavenly Father and taking in family members in time of need. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister, grandmother, great grandmother, great great grandmother, aunt and will be sadly and greatly missed by her family. Funeral services will be conducted 1:30 P. M. Friday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Home with Pastor Robert Meredith (Rocky Mount Church of God) and her nephew, Pastor Robert Pruitt officiating. Interment will follow in Gretna Pentecostal Holiness Church Cemetery, 1980 East Gretna Road, Gretna, VA 24557. The family will receive friends Friday from 12:00 to 1:00 P.M. at the funeral home and other times at the home of Billy and Patricia Keatts, 2858 Old Franklin Turnpike, Rocky Mount, VA 24151. The family expresses special thanks to the Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospice staff for their wonderful care during Mama Ruby’s illness.
