Ruth H. David

Ruth H. David, 91 of Union Hall went to be with the Lord on Thursday, May 28, 2020. She was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years, George T. David, Sr.; parents, Claude and Roberta Horsley; her daughter, Vickie Lynn David and four brothers, Marvin Horsley (Eurseline), Willie Horsley, Roy Horsley (Geneva) and Claude Horsley, Jr. (Janice). She is survived by two sons, George T. David (Sarah), Frankie David (Denise); three daughters, Bonnie Brooks (Perry); Jeannie Brown, Lisa Mitchell (Crosstie); grandchildren, Beth Whitehead (Scott) Leigh Mizak (Greg), Ben David, Angela Hurley (Stevie), Stephanie Jones (Jason), Ryan David, Heather Parker (Bucky); great-grandchildren, Michael, Emory, Connor, Samantha, Christopher, Savannah, and Cheyenne; brothers, Jack Horsley (Jean), J. C. Horsley (Becky), Ken Horsley (Debbie), Larry Horsley (Nancy); sister-in-law, Virginia Horsley. Many thanks to Special Caregivers Louise, Shannon, Julie and Carilion Hospice for their loving compassion and care shown and given. Ruth worked 16 years for Franklin County Public Schools and before on their family farm. She loved to work in the garden, her flowers and most of all taking care of her family. She also loved sitting on the front porch. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Western VA Chapter of Alzheimer’s Association, 1160 Pepsi Place, Suite 306, Charlottesville, VA 22901. Funeral Services will be conducted 2:00 PM Sunday, May 31, 2020 at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home (town chapel) with Pastor Mark Long officiating. Interment will follow in the David Family Cemetery at the home. The family will receive friends, Saturday, May 30th from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Please keep in mind that we will be following the executive orders placed by our Governor for both the visitation and funeral service. Masks will be required to enter our facility. If you do not have one, we will have an outside register for you to sign so the family will know you were there, weather permitting.
