Sallie Mae Nagy, 94, passed away on January 21, 2016 at Carilion Franklin Memorial Hospital in Rocky Mount. She is survived by her three children, Alexis Nagy Cundiff (Elton) of Glade Hill, Paul Nagy of Charlottesville, and James Nagy (Jill) of Johnson City, TN. She was preceded in death by her husband of 47 years, Alex John Nagy, in 1986. Mrs. Nagy was the third of fifteen children born to Oveeda Hodges Greer and Harry Thomas Greer. She is also survived by two brothers, AJ (Jim) Greer and Edward Greer, and three sisters, Lonnie Holland, Virginia Hodges, and Carolyn Lyman. Mrs. Nagy has seven grandchildren: Barry Cundiff (Cindy), Amanda Brooks (Merriman), Michael Nagy (Alysson), Steven Nagy, Melvin Nagy, Caleb Nagy, and Jacob Nagy. She also has ten great grandchildren: Katelin, Carrie, Kasey, and Caroline Cundiff; Beth, Amber, and Andrew Brooks; and Ian, Mercedes, and Skye Nagy. She was a member of the First Pentecostal Holiness Church of Rocky Mount and Glade Hill Baptist Church. A special memorial service will be held at Redeeming Life Pentecostal Holiness Church in Rocky Mount at 1:00 PM on February 20, 2016. Officiating the service will be Revs. David Long and Jackie Spence. Special music will be provided by Jaime Baker of Piney Flats, TN. In lieu of donations, please send flowers.
