Sarah Reith

August 31, 1952 — March 5, 2015

Sarah Reith, 62, passed away at home with her family by her side on March 5, 2015 after a long and courageous battle with cancer. Born August 31, 1952, in Dayton, OH, she was the daughter of the late Bob and Lillian Heiks. She graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1970 and attended college at the University of Delaware, where she met her husband-to-be, Timothy Reith. Sarah and Tim married in 1974 and recently celebrated 40 years together. Sarah enjoyed the role of motherhood and homemaker while she continued her career as an RN. Her interests included her family, cooking, sewing, shopping and taking care of her special dog, Money, a retired greyhound rescue. During the last few years, Sarah enjoyed spending time and decorating their second home in Venice, Fla. She loved to cook and for a time developed a business as a Personal Chef. She was also a certified medical esthetician and created her own skin care business, Personal Best Skin Care. Her charm, smile, sense of humor and fabulous cooking enlightened any given moment. Sarah is survived by her husband, Tim Reith; daughter, Jessica DeTournillon and husband Mark; son, Michael Reith and fiancé Laura; and three granddaughters – Taylor, Keelie and Raegen; brothers Steve and Jack Heiks; and many in-laws, cousins, aunts and uncles. She will be missed by all who knew her, and especially by her close group of girlfriends – Lynn, Nancy, Debbie, Linda, Jackie, Jan and Miwa. There will be a 2:00 service at the Resurrection Catholic Church in Moneta, Va. Saturday, April 11, 2015 with a celebration of life at Bridgewater Bay Club House from 3-5:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family is asking that donations be made to the American Cancer Society. Arrangements by Conner-Bowman Funeral Home & Crematory, Rt. 220 @ Wirtz Rd., Rocky Mount. (540)334-5151 www.connerbowman
