Sheldon “Scott” Danise, 57, of Rocky Mount and formerly of Salem, passed away suddenly after years of illness, surrounded by family. Scott was a devoted son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, brother-in-law, uncle, and great-uncle. He had a contagious laugh and a playful personality. Scott will be dearly missed.
Scott was a diesel mechanic for companies in Roanoke, Salem, & Texas and he drove an 18-wheeler truck for 8 years before retirement due to illness.
Sheldon Scott was preceded in death by his beloved maternal grandmother Eleanor Louise Weeks, (nee Eakin); his other grandparents, Robert C. Weeks and Mae and Oris Danise; his brother Shane Mitchell Danise, and brother-in-law John E. Douglas Jr.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory, his wife Susan Lynn Danise (nee Pike), his children Brian Scott Danise and Lisa Michelle Francisco, his grandson Michael Francisco, his mother, Lee Danise Nevitt McCoy, his step-father John A. McCoy, his sister Sharyn Lee Douglas, his brother Stephen Wayne Danise (Christina), his special sister-in-law, Helen Montney, special nieces & nephews, Amber-Lee English Hodges (Ricky), Benjamin Douglas (Meghan) and Samuel Douglas (Katlen) and sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephews, great-nieces & great-nephews too numerous to mention by name.
No cut flowers please, but plants or donations will be greatly appreciated. A memorial service for Scott will be conducted August 10, 2013 at 2:00 p.m. at Free Saints Holiness Tabernacle Church Cemetery (Mt. Zion Road). ... P.O. Box 54, Penhook, VA 24137.
