Sherman Haynes Burton

Sherman Haynes Burton, Jr., 82 of Boones Mill went to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, July, 28, 2015. He was a devoted and faithful member of Clearbrook Baptist Church, and if the doors were open and he was able to go, he was there. He was preceded in death by his parents; and several siblings. He is survived by his loving wife, Carolyn Overstreet Burton; daughters, Trina St. Clair and Benny Williams, Cindy and Ken Newby, Nita and Julian Criner, Jr., Deborah and Tony Padgett; son and daughter-in-law, Darrell and Amy Huffman; six grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; brothers and sisters-in-law, Earnest and Betsy Burton, Jack and Frances Burton, Raymond and Jenny Burton, James and Doris Burton and Clarence Burton; sister and brother-in-law, Bessie and Ray Christian. He is also survived by many other family members, friends including his loving church family. Funeral services will be conducted 10 a.m. Friday, July 31, 2015 with Rev. Bryan W. Ratliff and Rev. Jeff Gardner officiating. Interment will follow in Mountain View Memorial Park.
