Shirley Emmett Clemons, Sr., 77, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 14, 2015.
He was a retired head Chef from Salem Catering, and a member of Sandy Ridge Baptist Church. He was also an avid hunter and fisherman. He loved living in the country.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Hansford Reginald and Minnie Spangler Clemons; three brothers, Dwight, Carlos, and Albert Clemons; one sister, Annie Clemons Foley.
He is survived by his wife, Carolyn L. Clemons; children, Shirley Clemons, Jr., Roanoke, Ricky Clemons, Roanoke, Michelle Ray and husband, Kevin, Hardy, Reginald (Reggie) Clemons and wife, Angie; grandchildren, Rachel Camilleri and husband, Marc, Callaway, Amanda Grissom and husband, Jacob, Roanoke, Amber Clemons, Roanoke, Joseph Clemons, Buena Vista; five great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted from Conner-Bowman Funeral Home Chapel 2 p.m. Monday, August 17, 2015 with Rev. Joe Dillon officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Sunday from 4 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.
The family will accept flowers or memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America, 322 Eighth Ave., 7th fl., New York, NY 10001.
