Shirley was a particularly proud and loving grandmother of her 8 grandchildren (Amber, Brooke, Alex, Cameron, Kaelin, Lindsey, Taylor and Ian). In Addition, she was especially fond of her 7 great-grandchildren (Mackenzie, Kameron, Chase, Joaquin, Layla, Sophie and Duncan). Shirley was preceded in death in 1985 by her husband, Dr. Ronald M. Mrs. Scott was an accomplished and prolific knitter and, after retiring in 1985, she owned and operated a knitting and yarn shop in Rocky Mounty VA. Shirley was also an avid "Go Blue" fan of the Indianapolis Colts football team. Her family would like to thank the Colts organization for their help and assistance over the years. In addition, the family would like to thank Shirley's good friend of 50+ years, Thelma Pasche Hanley, of Palm Bay FL as well as Shirley's cousins from the Gierman family for their lifelong friendships. A private service for family members is planned. Shirley will rest alongside her loving husband, Ron, atop a scenic crest at Franklin Memorial Park in Rocky Mount VA.
