Stephen Weldon Lee

Stephen Weldon Lee (Steve) of Boones Mill, VA passed away peacefully on Monday, June 12th, 2023 after a year and 1/2 long fight against Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. 

Steve is survived by Kathy, his wife of 47 years, his sister, Peggy Lee Bostick, her husband Alfred, their sons Joe, Jeffrey and Jeff’s wife Christine Mechen Bostick. 

Steve worked in the General Aviation industry for more than 30 years, employed by Signature Flight Support for 20 years, holding the positions of Regional VP of Operations, VP Marketing, CFO, VP Operations and President, North America.  He consulted for the industry for the last 13 years.  Since 2020, Steve was also working with Jim Reiher to create Ocean Aviation, a new FBO brand that will elevate the experience in accommodations and service. Steve was highly liked and respected by all who knew and worked with him.  He will be missed. 

Graduating in 1976 from Stephen F. Austin State University with a BS, Select Student, double majors of Finance and Accounting.  He was a member of Alpha Tau Omega fraternity as well as accounting, finance and business fraternities. 

Steve and Kathy are members of the Cave Spring United Methodist Church and have shared their lives, hearts and home with the many Great Pyrenees dogs they have had through the last 35 years, continually maintaining membership with the Great Pyrenees Club of America.  Steve loved to cook, often experimenting with and creating new recipes.  He was a fun, funny guy with a wicked sense of humor, who completely loved God, his family, friends and dogs.  He will be so terribly missed by us all.

Thank you to all of those with Good Samaritan Hospice for Steve’s fabulous care for more than a year, as well as our family and friends for your caring support throughout this most difficult year and 1/2.  Arrangements are to be determined.
