Susan Marie Lanier January 16, 1958- June 8, 2012 See Ya Later! Recently of Martinsville and Ferrum, slipped quietly away early Friday morning, June 8, 2012 at home surrounded by family, free of her pain and suffering. A native of Pennsylvania, her life’s journey brought her to Virginia in 2000, where she truly felt she found her home. She spent many years working tirelessly as a volunteer guardian ad litum in Beaufort, South Carolina, just one example of her generous spirit and compassionate heart. Her effortless talent with a paintbrush leaves us with many daily reminders of her presence. But her true passion was her two granddaughters, Alexis and Aleah. Survived by her husband Carl Lanier; daughter Amanda Lanier; granddaughters Alexis and Aleah Lanier; mother Mary Bordo; brother Joseph Bordo; sisters Mary Ann Bellini and Kathy Maltby; yellow lab, Cassie and countless friends who will all miss her terribly. Private goodbyes will be held Tuesday at Lynch Conner-Bowman Funeral Home, 140 Floyd Ave., Rocky Mount, VA.
