Thelma Mae Brown English, 97, of Rocky Mount, passed away Saturday, June 23, 2012. She was born in West Virginia, March 12, 1915, the daughter of the late Jessie Tildon Brown and Maggie Elizabeth Reed Brown. Her husband, James Lewis English, preceded her in death, also preceded by her sister, Flora English and three brothers, Stuart Brown, Wilbur Brown, Winfred Brown. She retired from Leggett's Department Store. Surviving are her daughter, Caroline Felton of Rocky Mount; brother, Henry Brown of Baltimore, Maryland; two sisters, Lucille Dent of the Richmond, Virginia area; Inez Radveich of Baltimore, Maryland; several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted 2 p.m. Tuesday at Lynch Conner Bowman Funeral Chapel with the Rev. Steve Pasley officiating. Interment will follow in Franklin Memorial Park. The family will receive friends Monday night from 6 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
