Thomas Eugene Hannah, age 66 of Roanoke, passed away Wednesday, November 15, 2017. Gene had a passion for life and was singing and playing the piano shortly before he passed on Wednesday.
He graduated from the College of William & Mary and was a man of many talents and interests. He was a gardener, brewer, musician, wood carver, pool player, gymnast, mathematician, rocket scientist, history buff, and Scottish games enthusiast, but first and foremost, he was a son, brother, uncle and a friend and will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Preceding Gene in death was his father John H. Hannah; brother Ronald W. Hannah, Sr. and stepfather James O. Black. He is survived by his sister BJ Watkins; mother Jonell Patsel Black; nephew Ronald Wayne Hannah, Jr.; aunt and uncle Audrey and John Thrasher; many great nieces and nephews, cousins; and a close friend Everette Eby, whom Gene cared for and treated as his son. Visitation for Gene will be held from 2-4 Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Conner Bowman Funeral Home (Rt. 220 Chapel).
