Thomas Warrick Sullivan, Sr., 72, of Ferrum passed away peacefully in his home on August 23, 2012. He was the son of the late Earl Hansford Sullivan and Viola T. Bradshaw of Fredericksburg, Virginia. Mr. Sullivan was a faithful husband, father, and grandfather. He was a retiree of Stanley Furniture Company and a member of Evangelistic House of Prayer in Ferrum. He was a 1960 graduate of the Virginia School for the Deaf and Blind (VSDB) where he was a star athlete in football, basketball and baseball. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Mamie Prillaman Sullivan; one son, Thomas “Tom” W. Sullivan, Jr. and his wife, Tina; and one grandson, Mackenzie W. Sullivan all of Ferrum. Also surviving is one sister, Betty Cooper, of Fredericksburg, Virginia. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Patsy Scott and Viola Duty and one brother, Joe Sullivan. The family will receive friends from 1:00-2:00 on Saturday, August 25 at the Evangelistic House of Prayer in Ferrum. Funeral services will be held at 2:00 following visitation with Pastor Bud Nichols officiating. Interment will be in the Prillaman Family Cemetery, Henry, Virginia. The family would like to express their sincere appreciation to Mrs. Shirley Allen and Mrs. Diann Wagoner for their many years of friendship and sign language interpretation. The family would also like to thank Carilion Hospice for the love and care that they gave to Thomas and the family.
